In Brisbane there are certain procedures that you must follow when getting married. Your celebrant will submit the Notice of Intended Marriage form to government, which needs to be sent in at least 30 days before the wedding date. On the date you will need to provide the celebrant with photo ID (of both partners) and evidence of divorce or death of a partner if either of you has been married before.
Other than that, you just need two witnesses there for the ceremony and you’re good to go!
The winter months are probably the most popular because summer can be unbearably hot at points. That being said, we run elopements year around for happy couples! There isn’t necessarily a “best time” – just a time that works for you.
We have packages starting at just a few hundred dollars for a barebone elopement (just the celebrant). We recommend getting a photographer so you have photo memories to last a lifetime though, and that costs a bit more. Our average cost of elopement is under $2,000 which makes it very affordable.
