FAQ
Here are some questions we get about eloping in TAS. If you can’t find an answer to your question please contact us.
In Tasmania, there are a few simple steps you need to follow to legally marry. First, you’ll need to submit your Notice of Intended Marriage form with your celebrant (that we can provide you). Once that’s been submitted (at least 30 days before the wedding date), you’ll need to arrange for two witnesses over the age of 18 to sign the marriage register (we can also provide those). If that’s all done you just need to get married! Once all of these steps have been completed, your celebrant will submit the documentation and you’ll be legally married.
Tasmania’s weather is notoriously unpredictable, but that doesn’t stop couples from tying the knot outdoors. Many believe that the best time to get married in Tasmania is during the autumn months. The days are still warm enough for an outdoor ceremony, but there is less chance of rain. Of course, no matter what time of year you choose to get married, it’s always a good idea to have a backup plan in case the weather takes a turn for the worse. Or be ready with umbrellas and make the most of the situation! Some of the best wedding photos we’ve seen have been in the rain.
Yes we definitely do!
