This island state, located off the southeastern coast of Australia, is renowned for its stunning scenery, from rugged coastline and lush rainforests to snow-capped mountains.

With more than 40% of the island protected as national parks, there’s no shortage of breathtaking locations to exchange your vows. In addition to its picture-perfect scenery, Tasmania also boasts a relaxed atmosphere and friendly locals, making it the perfect place to have your elopement.

The accommodations and restaurants in Tasmania are top notch, which make it an amazing place to spend a few days and elope. Whether you’re looking for a rustic cabin in the woods or a lavish five-star hotel, Tasmania has something to suit every taste and budget. Be sure to indulge in some of the region’s delicious cuisine while you’re there!

Why Choose eloped?

We treat elopements as more than just “quick weddings”. We know how to create elopements that rival the most expensive weddings in terms of memories made. Our team of professionals will take care of all the logistics so that you can relax and enjoy your day.

We know that your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, and we want to make sure it is extra special. That’s why we only work with vendors who are top notch and who will go above and beyond to make your big day perfect.

We match couples with a celebrant who will create and deliver a personalised ceremony. They also organise your marriage license and take care of all the legal requirements so you can just focus on enjoying your wedding.

If you choose a photographer in your elopement package, they will take exceptional pictures throughout the ceremony. You will have pictures to look back on years after your wedding.

We’re so excited to be a part of your Tasmanian elopement! Let’s get planning.

Here are some questions we get about eloping in TAS. If you can’t find an answer to your question please contact us.

In Tasmania, there are a few simple steps you need to follow to legally marry. First, you’ll need to submit your Notice of Intended Marriage form with your celebrant (that we can provide you). Once that’s been submitted (at least 30 days before the wedding date), you’ll need to arrange for two witnesses over the age of 18 to sign the marriage register (we can also provide those). If that’s all done you just need to get married! Once all of these steps have been completed, your celebrant will submit the documentation and you’ll be legally married.

Tasmania’s weather is notoriously unpredictable, but that doesn’t stop couples from tying the knot outdoors. Many believe that the best time to get married in Tasmania is during the autumn months. The days are still warm enough for an outdoor ceremony, but there is less chance of rain. Of course, no matter what time of year you choose to get married, it’s always a good idea to have a backup plan in case the weather takes a turn for the worse. Or be ready with umbrellas and make the most of the situation! Some of the best wedding photos we’ve seen have been in the rain.
